Campus Palmas Altas

The Palmas Altas campus is located adjacent to the SE30 Seville ring road and is the worldwide corporate headquarters for one of Spain’s major industrial engineering conglomerates, ABENGOA.
Bovis Lend Lease were appointed as Project and Construction Managers in 2004 and were involved from the inception of the project; managing the international architectural competition, managing the design development and all procurement, managing all site activities and client fit out through to phased occupation.
The Campus consists of 7 similar buildings arranged around a series of plazas together with pavilions for common services such as restaurants, cafés, a fitness centre and childcare facilities. Designed as a commercial office campus, it was initially intended that four of the buildings would be occupied by Abengoa and three leased to tenants.
The campus provides 50,000m² of office space and 39,500m² of parking below ground.
The project was conceived to showcase the technologies that Abengoa delivers worldwide and to reflect their credentials as one of the world’s leaders in renewable energy. LEED Platinum certification was targeted and the campus is Spain’s only LEED Platinum core and shell project.
Although the building typology is common, size varies according to each Business unit. The curtain wall façades are protected with different shading elements depending on the orientation of each block. Interior spaces include atriums to enable natural daylight penetration to all floors and the transparency of entrance lobbies and illumination in general are paramount.
The external plaza spaces are environmentally friendly and sustainable spaces designed to enhance the work environment by using water and other features.
Recognising it’s green credentials, the project was awarded Union Investment’s Prime Property Award at Expo Real 2010.
