Bovis Lend Lease, was responsible for program and construction management services, including master planning and programming, pre-construction and design phase services, as well as construction phase management. Additionally, it was responsible for marketing and sales of the residential villas and apartments.
This site, roughly the same size as Monaco, has been developed in three separate phases. It is one of the most favoured resorts in Europe, for both holiday-makers and international sports stars alike.
Bovis Lend Lease was first appointed to carry out the construction of 36 individual villas, 80 two and three-storey Spanish Pueblo-style town houses at Los Lomas, and 32 bungalows which overlook the north golf course. Each area has its own pool and other services.
In 1993 we completed the refurbishment and extension of the 5-star Principe Felipe Hotel. The total number of rooms increased from 47 to 320. During the works of the Hyatt, the 47-storey old concrete hotel was refurbished and broadly extended, becoming a luxury tourist Resort. The Principe Felipe hotel has 300 rooms, 6 suites and a royal suite, after the addition of three three-storey wings.
The hotel’s classic design features arches, arcades, wrought iron railings, terracotta roofs and exposed terraces, are reminiscent of 18th century Spanish villas. The hall has a high and vaulted ceiling, stone pavement and overlooks the entrance area.
The entrance includes a decorative fountain. The lobby contains a high, vaulted ceiling, stone floor and a ceiling-to-floor view of the entrance area. The hotel’s interior space was reorganised to provide views of the leisure activities and grounds at La Manga. This phase also included a new golf course.
The reorganization of the inner space made possible that the leisure activities and golf courses could be overlooked. In addition of the golf courses and tennis courts the Principe Felipe has also a gymnasium and spa; sports club; football pitch; bowling alley; Horse Riding Centre; a jazz bar and a wide range of dinning facilities.
In October 1998 we built the Hyatt Casino on two underground levels below the Principe Felipe Hotel. The Casino has a floor space of 2,000 m², employs more than 170 staff and has a client capacity of 600.Health & Safety
Following Incident & Injury Free Bovis Lend Lease philosophy, safety at work has been a very important value,” if it is not safe enough we will not do it”. This project was proposed as an example to be followed to the students of Murcia University by Health & Safety Coordinators. In addition this project was awarded by Bovis Lend Lease for Health & Safety for the period 2002 – 2003.
In 2004 Bovis Lend Lease completed the apartment blocks located inside the Complex La Manga Club. The total number of apartments is 60 that may be rented per residential unit or per room. The total built area is 6.300 m2..
