Wyeth Quality Control Laboratory

Bovis Lend Lease was appointed to Design, Construct and Commission a New Quality Control Laboratory for Wyeth Farma in San Sebastian de los Reyes, (Madrid).
Bovis Lend Lease advantages worth mentioning of the services provided are; the possibility of providing the client with a main interface throughout the whole process, and introducing Value Engineering techniques at an early stage in the Project development phase.
The New QO Laboratory structure includes quality control laboratories, packed components inspections, automated laboratory and LIMS, and its associated areas to support LROP future development. The second floor has been adapted for office activities and quality control archives.
The project is based on the Execution Project previously designed by an International Engineering Company, and BLL was responsible for its adapting, and developing through the subcontractors, to safely deliver on time and within budget as required by the client. Additionally, a suitable project had to be designed to have the existing facilities building demolished without affecting production, resulting in a new 2,400m2 plant and ancillary buildings being constructed.
The planning for the construction phases is based on prefabricated construction systems in order to minimize the phases, façade of prefabricated concrete panels, etc
In contracting terms, it is planned to coordinate directly the critical elements with tight hand over phases and produce large quantities of material to reach the required cost target .
Once the construction phase is completed, BLL will commission the building jointly with Wyeth to achieve fulfilment to the strictest standards of quality and precision in the operation of the building.
Additionally, BLL has issued a Validation Master Plan (VMP) as a guideline for the validation process and for the laboratory commissioning according to the international standards from the pharmaceutical sector.
