On March 18, 2005, the Ministry of Health and Consumption of the Community of Madrid awarded the Public Works Concession for Construction and Operation contract to the group of companies formed by Bovis / Dragados / SUFI of the new Puerta de Hierro hospital in Majadahonda, Madrid.
The project included the financing, design, construction and operation of the new hospital that covers 520,000 inhabitants.
The hospital has a constructed area of 242,000 m2, distributed as follows:
- 167,000 m2 for the hospital and adjoining service areas distributed in 12 modules of 4 floors.
- 75,000 m2 of covered parking with 4 floors, two of them below ground, with capacity for 3,000 cars.
The hospital, with direct access to all the main routes, also has a heliport, a module dedicated to teaching and research, an auditorium with a capacity of 400 seats, a restaurant located on two floors and a retail area with different shops.
