PROJECT DESCRIPTION
BP Solar is the world's largest manufacturer of photovoltaic cells with a turnover of more than $ 200 million. The BP Solar project consisted of the reform of an existing microelectronic plant in a solar technology plant, located in Tres Cantos, 10 kilometers north of Plaza Castilla in Madrid. This plant had an expected production capacity of about 100 MWp, representing nearly 50% of the current world production in solar cells. It was the largest solar cell factory of this type in the world.

The plant has a built area of 37,000 m2, and is surrounded by over 1 million m2 of parkland. The new facilities were designed and built according to the strictest safety, health and environmental standards. The finished plant was compliant with ISO 9000, 14000 and EMAS standards.

The refurbished plant incorporated the latest advances in Saturn production technology.
